Anything with Apple Silicon is great. Anything else is old.

The only Intel MacBook I can recommend is the 16” Pro. You can still Boot Camp, decent performance (as long as you can tolerate the fans), good keyboard, and to me, better looking too. And obviously bigger screen than the 14”s.

Budget for a USB-C dongle too if you need one.

I’m seeing M1 Airs on Craigslist pop up around $600-$700. It’s worth every penny. I would not buy Intel, unless it’s under $300 and in great condition.

I wouldn’t spend good money on an Intel MacBook unless it was a 2018 or newer. Even my 2017 i7 was starting to show its age when I upgraded to an M1 MBP in January. Any M1 Mac is going to be lightning fast.

Everymac is a good resource to find out specifics. Avoid 2016-2018 as they have keyboards that WILL fail.

What model would be a good used MacBook? There are a lot out there, model numbers seem to have been used for years.
