Catfish setup
Looking to build a strictly catfish setup for larger catfish. Was thinking st croix premier (7ft H fast) paired with a Diawa bg 4500. If you have any thoughts are suggestions please let me hear it.

If you will be fishing from the bank I would go longer on the road for casting distance like a 9'. For boat fishing a 7' is good. Most people fishing for catfish will not see much difference between a expensive, sensitive, fragile StCroix and a much cheaper, less sensitive, way more durable Ugly Stick. (YouTube Ugly Stick commercials they are hilarious but true to the durability).
A Daiwa 4500 sounds perfect. Lots of people use really large reels for big catfish but the truth is you just don't need that much line capacity.
