I have been using these for a few months and they're excellent.

Szilágyi won the Luxardo in Padua wearing Asics Blast FF 2 shoes, but it seems he doesn't use them anymore, switched to Nike.

Blast FF2: imo the best shoe available right now, ahead of Kempas, Nikes and the other Asics shoes. Up there with Dart 4s as my favourite ever. I love mine and I will be replacing them with the same when they wear out.

Gel Blade 6 or 7 (the 8s aren't great for fencing and I'm just using them to coach in): very very good

Gel Rocket: excellent, slightly heavier duty than the FF2s or blades.

I fence epee, so I probably like more shoe than you. I was very happy with my Gel Blast 6, and have moved to Gel Blast FFs. I tried a pair of Gel Blast FF 2s, but found them to be too light. The FF2 have less of a shank. They also have a thinner upper, which is a problem in epee. The FFs have enough rubber on top I'm not terrified of a toe hit.

If you join your high school team now, you'll always be too old to return to fencing but still win Olympic gold

After lurking around the sub, I noticed that asics were recommended as a non-fencing shoe for fencing.

The top ones that I found: Gel Rockets, Gel Blades, Gel Domain

Which one do you recommend (especially for sabre) and why? Are there any other asics you recommend?

Thanks!
