learning acrylic after mastering gel

I’ve been doing my nails at home for a few years now. I can honestly say I’m pretty comfortable with gel polish and polygel (hybrid gel), as well as nail art with gel. Since nails has become a passion of mine, I want to up my nail skills by learning acrylic. I’ve been giving acrylic a few tries lately, and I’m feeling discouraged at how challenging I’m finding it. it was already challenging to get a smooth application on a practice finger, but on my own hands with tips or forms it seems extremely difficult. should i give up on acrylic and stick to gel entirely, or keep at learning acrylic?? any tips and tricks about acrylic are greatly appreciated as well! thank you for reading :)
