I hate how hitting kids are normalized

I don’t care if this post is gonna made fun of. I hate how normalized hitting kids are. I hate it really. I understand there are times where parents have to hit their kids, but a lot of times there really isn’t. It has gotten to a point where kids as young as 1 year are getting hit such as my brother. Also I hate it when parent smack their kids butt or hit them “as a joke.” Fuck off. Like no I don’t wanna be hit with a wooden spoon at 9pm. Its hurts really. I really hate the feeling. Just take away my phone. Make things easier for me at-least. It has gotten to a point in modern society at when people look away when seeing a child beaten by their parents. I hate it. Stop hitting kids. Atleast don’t randomly hit your kids as a joke. And stop hitting my 15 months old brother and hitting me when I ask you not to mom.

exactly!! i used to get smacked a lot for literally the most stupid reasons (not drinking milk, crying, etc) and it may have made me act better, but i grew up hating my dad for it, was rlly secretive and scared of him for most of my childhood. honestly dont see why parents cant just… parent instead of hurting their kids over trivial things

I don't think that it's normalised, you should tell a teacher.

I strongly believe that is highly debatable. We don't know nearly enough about what goes on there, the things that we hear about CPS in the US, for example, isn't all that great, at least when it comes to foster families and such. It's a serious thing making that decision.

Is that really the way it's heading?! Given all the social movements for rights for all sorts of minorities, social groups, genders, etc, I was sure it's heading the other way, but well, getting the real pulse of the world is really, really tricky nowadays. Good on you to stand up for your little brother like this/that, stranger! Although mostly useless, my warmest hug goes out to you two, I hope it will get better sooner then later, kids shouldn't have these kinds of worries and issues.

All POC households would come after you. I’m just saying. I would get hit at 3 months old and laugh about it with my cousins and friends who got a belt, wooden spoons, and rulers. To be honest, you stop giving a fuck after a while.
