self-conscious

I feel like I'm self conscious in social situations.

And on high alert. Scanning for hidden messages where I don't necessarily mean to, or taking things literally.

For example, one of my admin suggested I tell a parent about something that happened today with their child.

So now I'm wondering

  1. What do I need to communicate that I'm not?
  2. Do I need to tell them about ALL things that happen in a students' day that might cause the student to feel distresses?
  3. Did the parent say something to them?

Also, people are being strangley nice and helpful to me these past few days. And I'm wondering if word got out that I'm on the spectrum (I've told two people).

So now I'm paranoid and looking for evidence. And also more self conscious about how I interact with co workers.

. . .

Perhaps being on "high alert" is a trauma response from being bullied into masking for so long. . . . Not looking for advice. Mostly wanting a safe space to express what I'm feeling and thinking and see if others relate.
