My best friend just called me - her boyfriend was found brain dead under a bridge

He just got out of another 28 day program. He went to the sober living house, checked in, and left. That was 2 days ago. This evening his father got the call from the hospital - they found him under a bridge - seems he had a heart attack when he was passed out. His dad was on the way to the hospital to shut the machines off and let his son go. His parents just lost their daughter in July from an overdose. Now they have no kids left. My heart is breaking for my best friend. And he was a talented, sweet man who refused to give sobriety a chance. Please, take this as a warning - you NEVER know when your last time using will be. He never truly thought he would die from this disease. So many people think they can stop, get clean & sober tomorrow. Don't let it be you who needs to keep tempting fate - get out while you still can. Rest in Peace Chris - I hope you and Rob can jam a bit; I know you were a big fan.
