Skiing advices

Ask France

(sorry in advance for not speaking french, its not my main language)

im planning my first skiing holiday this year in france, do you guys have any advices where the best places for skiing in early december are? either the 03.- 11.12 or 22-31.

My Budget would be roundabout 750€ for Hotel, i was thinking about 3-4 nights. I want to book the ski Pass together with the whole trip and not buy it seperate.

Any advices at which website it is the safest to book?

Just search for the name of the ressort and add "centrale de réservation". The "centrales" are associations that centralize booking for multiple offices (EDIT: and you can book the pass from them). Do not book an hotel but a flat. Hotel are needlessly expensive.

Early December, you need to go in the highest ressorts, for example:

But snow is not guaranteed that early. And during end-of-year holidays, your budget is too short.

EDIT: before holidays, you can book the previous day without issue. Check the webcam for snow and decide:

When you book, look for "ski au pied", meaning that the access to slope from the flat is by ski. No hassle for ski transportation, no time lost.

So early in the season you want to go high (resort at >1800m). If you’re from the UK I am pretty sure you can find a bundle train London > Bourg St Maurice and a skipass/rent/accommodation in any of the big resorts nearby: Val d’Isere (expensive but probably the best), Tignes (somewhat cheaper for accommodation and part of the same ski area but a real eye sore), Les Arcs (safe bet), La Plagne (good one but a bit more flat if I recall), La Rosiere (smaller so maybe less expensive), and I would also consider Sainte Foy which is a lot more confidential, and still reasonably high.
