Any teachers with ADHD here?
I’ve never been more frazzled and unfocused in my life ever since I became a teacher. The thing is… throughout my life I certainly had poor habits like disorganization and leaving assignments until the very last minute and staying up till 4am to work on it etc. and it was all fine because it only affected me. Now as a teacher, I’m losing my students assignments and cannot bring self to mark at all. I cannot for life of me envision what the next week will look like so I can’t make week plans so I’m stuck doing day by day planning but then I am overworked in the day catching up other things like assessments and school deadlines so I end up not even planning for the next day and then I am frazzled and winging it. I know this makes me sound like an awful teacher and I have a lot of guilt and tears over this. I’m working so hard to fix this. I started Vyvanse last week and will get back to nightly meditation. But it’s so hard. Is there anyone else who relates or has any advice?
