2008 GMC Yukon?

I appreciate the guess but I think that would be incredibly unlikely given the location. Plus it looks to me like it was a saloon car, not an SUV.

2013 Ford Fusion?

TIL that the Mk5 Mondeo was sold in the US as a Fusion... we also had a Fusion from 2002 - 2012, but it looked like [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Fusion_(Europe\)).

Could very well be it, I appreciate that there isn't much to go off!

What country or region was this picture taken?

Edit: for some reason didnt notice the title

Early 2000s ford fusion. UK version. Look at the headlight and grill shape you can see based on where the flames are coming. Aditonally, the plastic bumper has melted off and is gone.

Thanks, though I think we are looking at the rear of the car in the photos. It would be pointing the wrong way if not (unless it had got hit and spun around), and I'm pretty sure I can see an open door in the second photo.

Plastic in the middle of the trunklid would be unusuall.

The number plate? I'm not sure how flammable they are though.

Not enough to burn through the metal trunklid, and definitly not that clean
