My interest in Russian has bombed

Discussion

Ever since the war started my interest in learning has bombed which stinks because I"m minoring in it and spent so much time learning it. Despite this i feel like im still a very poor speaker and cant really hold a conversation. I feel like learning Spanish would be so much easier/fun/useful because I am an American in the south. I feel like I'm too committed to back out now especially if I want to work in the government. If anybody has felt this way or has any advice that'd be great.

Edit: Thanks for all the replies guys. Reading them made me realize a large part of the issue isn’t not wanting to learn Russian but rather uncertainty over where I am heading with my career path and life overall. I do like Russian and Eastern European history but I think the war shook things up and changed my life direction in some unexpected ways. I think I’m going to try to learn both Russian and Spanish but prioritize Russian for career and Spanish for fun.
