Leave
I want you to leave
Is that selfish of me?
I wish for you to fly away to new places
And forget.
Of me and the things we’ve done,
A whisper
A fading dream
I want you to leave
Because they say the heart grows fonder with absence
So go,
Leave, travel and explore distant lands
And One day you might come back and see
Me, in a new light
As someone so familiar yet foreign
I want you to leave
And experience new things
Make new memories
With new people
Yet you still hear my voice in your mind
Saying snarky comments and making you laugh
I want you to leave
So that when you’re gone you might realize
Who you think of when you’re missing home
I want you to leave
So that I can change and grow
Realize my mistakes and become more
For when you come home
And We can start over with better understanding
I want you to leave
they say if you love someone let them go
So go!
Go and don’t look back
because if you do,
my treacherous heart will go with you
And this facade I put up will all come tumbling down
I want you to leave
Go and pursue your dreams
No matter how far and wide they might take you
Deserts and oceans may split us
But Know that I will always be by your side
There if you need me
Here when you come home
