Are these barnacles on the crabs? I took the photos in an opean air market here in the Philippines.

Wow , I know goose barnacles but I didn’t know these also are. Suspecting they are young. I thought they can only be harvested on coastal rocks mostly northwest Spain. And it goes for $125 a pound.
i found a huge piece of wood washed up on the coast of oregon, completely covered
Looks like a type of seaweed to me
Goose barnacles
are they safe?
No bro they’re about to get eaten by a Filipino person.
we took the female and "gay" crabs that have no barnacles
EDIT In the Philippines we are culturally aware of non binary genders. for crabs, people can see male and female based on their bottom. but juvenile females' bottom looks like a transition of male to female. given that they are the same size as the adult, locally people do not revognize that they are just juvenile. so they were assigned non binary gender based on the local norm. i mean, if it is not a female or a male, the logical thing for use is that it is gay. which makes sense here in the Philippines
what.
Lol leave it to redditors to downvote a language flub
Explain this pls. I can’t sleep. I can’t eat. I’m consumed by the enigma that is this comment.
Where can I buy gay crabs? Are there other gay shellfish? Shrimp?
Thank you for explaining! I feel educated about another culture now :)

In all seriousness, I think the meaning behind what you're saying is being genderqueer is a more accepted idea than in other places, right?
It's just that gay and genderqueer are not the same thing.
yes, they are considered a delicacy in some countries
