Hi! I'm not super into horror games but I generally like the concept of just eerie, discomforting horror- so I wanted to try something new! Any suggestions?
I don't have too much of a preference just 2D games are preferred, but I'm not at all against 3D ones.

Lone Survivor is good too. I don't really like 2D horror but that one is pretty memorable.
Maybe Uncanny Valley? Watch a video first, as I haven't played, but it looks scary

All side scrollers - creepy atmosphere, good tension
Detention is an excellent 2D side scroller with a unique art style and creepy, sometimes surreal atmosphere. The story is powerful too. Set in 1960s Taiwan and based around true events.
Lone Survivor is another great 2D horror game. Cool pixel art style and a focus on survival. Soundtrack is incredible.
Song Of Horror is 3D but a throwback to the style of the original Silent Hill and Resident Evil games with the fixed camera angles and 3rd person view. The influences are obvious and it’s full of SH references and Easter eggs.
Darkwood is extremely good

It’s a puzzle/escape room style horror game but it’s genuinely the scariest game I’ve ever played. Apparently critics feel the same way!
Maybe you can try omori? But it’s rpg, 2d, eerie, horror, wonderful soundtrack and story
Limbo, Inside, Little Nightmares are all great side scrollers
Limbo is already on my list but I haven't heard of the other ones! Thanku
Inside is a direct prequel for Limbo, or it’s at least from the same studio with the same style. Not exactly sure if the story is continued or not.
