What Are Better To Use as My Rears? Does the 6ohm and 4ohm Matter. Technics Surround Sound Receiver.

Impedance DOES matter. What is the impedance of your front and central speakers?
All 8.
Then you’ll be better off with the Onkyos —which are better anyway.
I have a Bose Sub unit hooked up too.
If it’s an active subwoofer its impedance is irrelevant
Does that mean it has its own power source?
Yes. How do you connect it to the amp?
It depends on the receiver or amp you are using. The Impedence or resistance of a surround sound speaker should match the amp or Receiver. Why, the self protection may kick in. If it is a higher end amplifier it may handle the mismatch. I would use 6 ohm. Probably the best way to go.
Says 8 and all my speakers are 8 now. Is that good?

Is the only reason they the Onkyo say rear only because they aren't shielded and would potentially damage tube TVs? The Technics say it too. What is the reason they couldn't be used as fronts?
They say that because they came as part of a set, where they presumably had bigger speakers for the fronts.
Both of these are part of a HTIB set and I'd advise against using either of them with anything other than the original receiver they were sold with.
Would my Bose Acoustimass 15 II be a better choice?
Nah, same deal. These tiny low impedance speakers are generally not recommended to be used outside of the system they originally came with. They won't just sound cruddy (no mid or bass as they're designed with the intention to send those frequencies to the "sub"woofer), but the low impedance is taxing to your receiver and might even kill it after a while if it's not up to snuff.
The Onkyo is probably the safest pick, but they're still not great.

This is my receiver.
You are the one with the speakers, you tell us which is best.
My ear isn't as good. What is your opinion.
If that's the case then the best thing anyone could do for you is simply say 'those speakers are great' and let you be happy with them.
That they are both low quality and it wont matter which ones you pick.
Absolutely, matching up the resistance (ohms) is the best
Thanks. Gonna give the Technics rears to my mom. Don't care if she fucks it up.
Onkyo. No contest.
Thanks. The Technics I paid 50 bucks for with the centre in the box still. Just bought the Onkyos for 5 bucks at a thrift store. Maybe I'll keep the centre for now and give the rears to someone that needs them. Do I need to worry about the impedance being different?
Is there a reason they are for rear use only?
