The Starship Troopers movie isn’t a good commentary or satire of the original story.

For the record I don’t agree with the messages the book says, I just find it interesting and thought provoking in several respects. I know Starship Troopers as a movie isn’t meant to be a good adaptation, and that’s completely fine because it’s supposed to be a satire of the messages the book is supporting. However, I don’t think it does that well, it never really refutes any of the ideas the book presents, or try to satirize the event. It feels like it more or less is just loudly talking over the original book without even trying to humor it, it isn’t a satire of that book it’s just doing the opposite of what the book does.
