I will always be yours
It’s snowing again in our small town
and as cold as I am,
it’s the thought of you that warms me.
•
You hate me, you always have,
but I can’t hate you back.
I don’t know why,
there’s just nothing there for me to loathe
despite how much I try.
•
I saw you this morning
eyes sunken and green
hands clammy and cold
and I felt a punch to my stomach.
Just looking at you makes me sick
with want, with pain, with love.
But it’s nothing compared to how it felt
to have your hands on my chest
late last night.
•
You don’t know what I would do
to feel that just once more.
I know you’ll never want me
you’ll never know the knives in my chest
the tears in my eyes
when I look at you, lovelorn
through rose colored glasses.
But I thought I’d tell you anyway
even if you won’t be mine
I will always be yours.

So this is actually a poem I wrote to include in a fanfic I am writing. The writer is 18 years old, but I am in my mid 20s. Critical feedback is much appreciated! Thank you!
EDIT: it wasn’t appearing correctly before for some reason. The single dots I have inserted are supposed to separate each stanza, because it wasn’t allowing me to do that before with just spacing.
