How to write a poem
Forget your ideas about literature.
Don't get bogged down in language.
Italians say: Talk like you eat.
A natural act, born of a simple need.
Life does not rhyme. It is too different
And will not fit into a song.
What's essential is to feel precisely
To stay with each sensation.
“My soul is torn to shreds!”
Better to say: Since you left
I have not felt the taste of bread.
The first verse must pierce the heart
And the last can't come too soon.
Insight is instantaneous
Dreams and deliriums are never-ending.
Stay with yourself until the words unfold.
