I just started watching and some have first thoughts. I don't know if I love yet the addition of actual supernatural elements (vampires, werewolves, clairvoyance, etc.) And Luis Guzmon as Gomez seems like an odd casting choice.
But Tim Burton's goth look works, as always, and Danny Elfman created an excellent score so atmospherically this is great.
Without spoilers, how do you all feel about the show?

I watched the first two and decided its not the Addams Family no matter how hard they try to make it that. I also felt like I was way too old for it even in my mid-thirties.
I felt too old for it. But if I was a teen, I would have been all over it. My Addams family are the movies. And my dad's Addams family was the show from the 60s. And I like that. Generations having their Wednesday and Addams family.
But I absolutely loved this Wednesday's dance, and I really liked all the elements from the different characters that was thrown in it as little homages. And I thought all the music used in the show was great. And the cast was brilliant.
I finished it last night. It has fleshed out characters, funny and the twists were interesting. I say check it out. You won't be disappointed
I’ve only watched ep.1, but I really enjoy Jenna Ortega, and am intrigued enough to keep watching. In theory, I love Luis Guzmán as Gomez, but it just doesn’t work for me. Catherine Zeta Jones is fine, but it seemed flat; maybe it’s just impossible to live up to the Raul Julia-Angelica Huston chemistry. Looking forward to watching the rest.
For what is basically "Wednesday goes to Hogwarts" I really loved it and Jenna Ortega completely nailed the character.

That is EXACTLY what my brother said when we watched the first episode together, word for word.
My favorite show. They better continue it. I want like 5 or 6 more seasons and a new overarching mystery each season. I love how dry Jenna Ortega Wednesday is.
That is Wednesday's most important quality, so I'm glad she seems to be nailing it (just finished episode two.)
I swear Gomez looks like maybe comic version i once saw, so I wasn't that disappointed, not the one from the tv show or the movies but it was really familiar for me. Buuuut, Wednesday is Christina Ricci in my head, she always be, so this girl was a far cry or what I wanted to see.
I like the music and the visuals but i couldn't get into, drop it after the dance, was bored asf.
Just watched the first episode. It's decent for a modern spin on things, but it doesn't hold a hand (lol) to the 90s films imo.
As a hobbyist musician, the soundtrack is chef's kiss and is inspiring me to write a dark electronica track.
That cello interpretation of [song] was quite good too.
