Turning on/off TV damage it?

Question

Kid had the remote and kept turning off and on the tv, a Sony full-array LED. Probably several or more times at once before I took the remote away. Would this cause any real damage to the unit? Just got it a week ago.

Nope.

All TVs can refresh the image up to 60Hz. That means you can literally turn off all the pixels from white (max brightness) to black (off) 60 times a second.

It would take several months to years for it to break the pixels.

You'd have to do it 1000 times per day for months to wear anything out
