Quirk

Poem

The Red House on the corner,

Sank firmly and unevenly into the earth,

Its left-most wall standing shorter than its right-most part,

The crookedness saturated its quirk,

While softening expectations of a typical home,

The lean,

The obvious

lean,

Made the Red House look as if it tipped its hat,

Its Redness screamed hello among the whispering beige and baby-blue neighboring homes,

But everyone used its redness as a pivotal point,

“Turn left at the Red House”

“Turn right at the Red House”

And although everyone loved its intense redness,

They didn’t want a red house of their own.
