Time is fast

Question

Howdy! A few weeks ago i found my casio back. It got misplaced when i was moving about 5-6 years ago and happy to say it still works. I bought it ages ago and the battery still seems to hold up oddly enough. However after wearing it a few weeks i notice the watch is a bit fast. About 10 minutes after wearing it a month. Could that be because of age? Or because the battery is getting old? Its a casio GD100ms model 3236. I am happy i found it back even tho its not a rolex or whatever, it has some meaning for me. Also could i change the battery myself? Have a good one! Cheers!

Well, this is odd, battery state shouldn't affect accuracy, but who knows...

You could try to change the battery and do an a/c reset, since 10 minutes a month is really way outside of casio standards.

I have tried to find anything on google and did not really find anything about this at all tbh. Can is the battery easy to change myself and can i easily do an ac reset?

Yes, it is pretty easy to change the battery and do the ac/reset. You just need a small ph screwdriver, tweezers, and 5 minutes of your time.

Okay cool. Then i will try that. Its not a super big deal that its a bit iff every month. Its easy to change but its just a bit weird. Maybe the reset will do some difference. I read in the manual that the battery usually hold about 4 years and its still going after 10-ish:p not bad.

There is no trimmer on these so there won't be any way to correct it.

It shouldn't be fixed by a new battery.

To help with nice accurate measurement you could use an app like Atomic Watch & Clock Accuracy Tool that provides an accurate time source and tracks and graphs the measurements.
