is there anything that triggers your childhood trauma?

my mom was a drug addict when i was a kid and one of the side effects was that she was always sniffing (cause of coke). nowadays she's clean and all but everytime i hear her sniffing i start shaking, so i feel curious about other people's experiences with memories like that
