I think i've found a solution after experiencing the same thing so now i'm posting my own experience to this problem, audio stopped working for browser related stuff but video files on my computer still showed sound for both my headphone and speakers.

**What didnt work:**

I tried the automatic installer and running a diagnosis but it didnt fix the problem, also did restarts, plugging out and plugging in headphones, confirm that audio was enabled on every front and not muted on accident, running another diagnosis frequently after a third restart.

What i did after trying out the different solutions found online was to go into the device-manager and looked at the related programs for the audio, mine was Realtek(R) Audio. Tried deactivating it and running another diagnosis, it detected that it was deactivated but it still didnt fix my problem.

What i did next was deinstall Realtek(R) Audio from my device-manager and then restarted the whole computer. After the restar

My Dell laptop won't play sound from any browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox) but plays the sounds from Teams and Zoom.

I've checked the individual browser settings, my app settings in the control panel, and the audio mixer (mixer shows sound playing, I just don't hear any). I have the latest windows update.

Any ideas?
