Latest Thailand Travel News: The Tourism Season Begins in Thailand
In the latest Thailand travel news, Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport gets ready to welcome 130,000 daily passengers as the travelling season begins. Saksayam Chidchob, Minister of Transport, stated that Thailand is prepared to welcome its tourists, and they also expect the number to rise in the following days with the return of Chinese tourists.
However, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Tourism, added that Thailand’s focus should be on attracting “high-end travellers, rather than a large number of visitors.” Officials are working towards reducing the long queues at the airport by speeding up the immigration process for a hassle-free experience for tourists.
The Thai tourism industry is one of the major contributors to the country’s economy. It is also a significant contributor towards employment in Thailand.
