Battery life out the box

Just after some advice from fellow Asus users. I got my new Asus laptop from amazon this week. Out the box I have been getting around two hours of screen time not really using any heavy programs and the battery is not in high performance mode or anything like that.

Do you think I have a dud battery or are the first few charges a poor run time for whatever reason.

Two hours is nowhere near long enough for what I need it for and it says it should be around 8-10 hours
