How does exodus store private keys

Are the private keys/seed phrase stored in plain or encrypted format on my local machine? If an attacker gained access to my laptop that has exodus installed and knew my laptop's password would they be able to view my private keys or would they still have to know my exodus wallet's password because the private keys are encrypted by that?
