Can we now all agree pt isn't Mill's fault this team performing so poorly?

🥤 Kool-Aid

Before anyone gets a hate boner I'm not saying he's the answer. All I'm saying is he wasn't the issue. Kyle Allen is worse and missed so many passes.

This whole Allen vs Mills debate is futile. Both these guys will be a non factor next season

Ereyes18:hero3:•

Mills has team control so we should get him some play time so he can be a good backup QB

27
ReportMeSnowflakeOP•

Allen won't be a Texan. Mills will at least be the backup.

10
TXCapita•

Nah. I would rather a proven vet helping develop Bryce Young. Mills is a young journeymen that will continue somewhere else

13
Ereyes18:hero3:•

I think it would be good at the very least to keep him 3rd string. Honestly we should've gotten some vets this year instead of Kyle Allen and Jeff Driskel. Wish Fitzpatrick still played

4
thereelsuperman•

Young won’t be the pick

1†
jonahvsthewhale•

What makes you say that? Lol no one knows

4
Chubbybrownbear:HOU:•

Mills is going to be here at least for 1 more year. He’s an a rookie deal. So if we draft a QB, it will be Mills and Driskel here. We’re not going to have 4 QBs on our roster next year So they’ll be no other vets here.

1
Wiseguy888:watson2:•

Which proven vet did you have in mind instead?

1
Financial-Phone:JAC:•

Nah they’re for sure gonna do the same thing they did with Gardner minshew when they drafted Lawrence

1
carlosletWatt•

Mills vs Allen is the definition of a mid off lol

4
Siloh_Johnson•

Absolutely

That’s what you’re hoping for at least

1
jettweet•

The QBs are part of the problem, but certainly not the only problem.

75
ReportMeSnowflakeOP•

I agree. But it doesn't start with him.

-32
htownballa1:johnson3:•

It does start with him, they handle the ball every possession.

22
solidgryffin:Caserio:•

So does the center, who gets blown up every play

4
ReportMeSnowflakeOP•

I'm saying our problems don't start with him. If you truly believe they do you don't know ball.

-32
htownballa1:johnson3:•

Don’t know ball, even though I played high school and college football, and coach the sport. Got it.

3†
Shakermaker555OB1•

Mills will be on the roster next year as a backup and Kyle Allen will not… play Mills the rest of the way

50
ReportMeSnowflakeOP•

This is what I'm saying.

10
TXCapita•

why would you want a young and inexperienced guy backing up Bryce Young when he needs a mentor. I really hope Mills is not on the team, unless as a 3rd stringer

-4†
Chubbybrownbear:HOU:•

He absolutely will be on the team. He’s on a rookie contract and he’s a damn good backup at the very least. He’s staying. That’s almost a certainty.

2
Baliwood25:HOU:•

Oh god you Mills people never stop do you? Mills is dogshit. Kyle Allen is also dogshit. This performance today doesn’t mean Mills is better. They are both awful. Enough.

34
Chubbybrownbear:HOU:•

Was Mills dogshit last year? No. The entire offense is dogshit. That’s on Pep. Not on Mills.

2
xGIJOSEx•

I agree with this take. Kelly actually knew how to run an offense with limited talent compared to Pep. This is a massive step back on offense.

2
Siloh_Johnson•

Stop telling so much truth you may get down voted

1
TurbulentJudge1000•

It actually does mean mills is better. They’re not the future, but mills wouldn’t throw multiple pick sixes.

-1†
Baliwood25:HOU:•

Oh really? He still leads the league in picks and threw 2 against Washington. A worse defense than Cleveland. Mills would’ve been slaughtered today also. Stop it.

-4†
TurbulentJudge1000•

Kyle Allen makes Davis Mills look like Kirk Cousins.

He wouldn’t have thrown pick sixes like Allen and has a better touch on the ball. Allen did nothing when it wasn’t garbage time. He did worse than nothing, he gave up points.

-3†
Cheesytacos123•

Plenty of blame to go around from the top down.

20
ReportMeSnowflakeOP•

I agree. But it's doesn't start with Mills.

-6
squatnbear:OIL:•

You keep saying this but tell me: what is wrong w the colts?

0
donkey123m•

This is a meaningless argument it doesnt matter if Mills was better than Allen they both suck ass

14
Ereyes18:hero3:•

Oh it does matter. I want to see every Mills hater riding his cock to eat crow.

-10
Baliwood25:HOU:•

Eat crow? Lmfao did you watch any games the past two years? HES A FUCKING BUM MOVE ON

6
Ereyes18:hero3:•

Oh here's one now!

-9
Baliwood25:HOU:•

You Mills mafia idiots are like cockroaches. I’m amazed you have the balls to even show your face on here anymore.

5

Maybe in 3 years when Mills signs a mega contract on a new team you can go support them instead.

The only unknown now is how Mills would play with a competent OC. He’s shown promise when Tim Kelly was calling the plays.

So while I agree neither look good, the unknown with Mills gives me a little bit of patience as he’s in a horrible situation this year.

9
Venator850•

The offense still sucked last year. There is no unknown, he's started more games than Kyle Allen has, at this point. He was supposed to be better with a run game, well they got a RB but his play fell way off.

5
Practical-Rhubarb•

More than one thing can be the problem. Mills and Allen both can not be great, and the rest of the team can not be good as well. Those two things are not mutually exclusive.

7
Venator850•

No this game just proves what everybody already knew. The Qb's suck and they need a new one among other things.

Mills was doing the same shit Kyle was all year. Stop trying to make up excuses for these two, they aren't it. Both have the same issues we've been complaining about all year. Bad turnovers, poor accuracy, lack of ability to extend a play and make something happen.

5
Ereyes18:hero3:•

I legit don't see how you can say Allen is doing the same thing as Mills.

That's such a stretch

5
Venator850•

What's different? Mills led the NFL in INT's and had thrown two picks 6's before he got benched. Allen is just as good at turning the ball over.

Mills had massive issues with his accuracy, just like Allen.

Offense scored 15 points PPG with Mills which about the same they've had with Allen.

2†
Ereyes18:hero3:•

Allen has a 1:2 TD:INT ratio while Mills is 1:1. That's not including the 2 lost fumbles in 2 games that Allen has, whereas Mills has only lost 1.

There's also been like 3 dropped interceptions thrown by Allen.

It's really not close

4†
OuttaNowhere3•

Mills is better than Allen. The “problem” is a full team, coaching staff, and management effort.

4
ReportMeSnowflakeOP•

Fully agree.

1
Ferman95:HOU:•

What it was at the beginning of the season were the close games we lost and how we lost them that led people to believe it was Davis mills. Take Davis mills out of the equation and we arent even in the game at all

3
Fig-eta_Bout_It•

Am I the only one who didn't think we looked that bad today minus qb play? I plan on rewatching bc I was so distracted with the announcers boner to paint Watson in a positive light, but it seemed like receivers were getting separation, just hard to catch something that sails over your head. Not saying we looked amazing at all, but as a whole, it felt like the team was alright minus Allen.

3
ReportMeSnowflakeOP•

That was my take as well. They were better in pass protection today, run game was looking decent, but Allen kept missing the throws to keep the drive alive. He was getting rid of the ball quick because he predetermined where he was going to throw the ball.

3
texans1234:johnson3:•

Nope. Allen is at least making fast decisions and moving the offense. Mills had games of not being able to get even first downs.

Neither QB is a starter level, but Mills def should be QB3.

2†
ReportMeSnowflakeOP•

Allen isn't making fast decisions.. he's making pre-snap decisions that are just flat out bad .

0
texans1234:johnson3:•

He continually came off his first read and got rid of the ball quickly. Did you watch today?

2
[deleted]•

QBs suck but it’s fasho other holes need to be filled. I hope we go qb edge rush and wr early man. We need some excitement

2
TheTeeJayGee•

Sure, but he still sucks and is getting replaced

2
Lost_Packet:Watt:•

To answer your question "No". It is very possible that they both suck. We already knew Mills sucked. Letting all those snaps go to waste and expecting a miracle is not healthy.

2
its2ez•

No, we knew Allen sucked. He's been the league for 5 years, we know exactly what he is. There's still hope for Mills to get better.

0
JDD4318•

Exactly. There is a reason Allen is the backup for our dumpster fire team after 5 years. He doesn’t belong in the league period.

1
WJack37:HOU:•

This squad unfortunately, on offence, was never going to succeed without a strong QB. And it’s not like we have a strong receiver core that makes it easy.

People forget that Mills came into the NFL with limited college experience, taken in the third round in a year where our draft capital was disastrous. I think he can still be serviceable, but it’s not as a starter.

Kyle Allen was Mills’ backup for a reason - he’s been no better, and there’s a reason for that

2
manish2179:Fairbairn:•

Kyle Allen couldn’t land a starting position on multiple college teams. It’s ridiculous he’s starting for this team.

2
CheezeWheelie:HOU:•

Hey, it’s Chubbs burner account lmao

2

The point is how much worse Allen has been than Mills. That was not a good defense we just faced. Again the point is you put any QB in this toxic situation and they will fail. Bryce Young and CJ Stroud are busts waiting to happen. The team can not afford to miss with a top 10 pick.
