Untitled
I can't relate to being impoverished while having children in the foster system
But I know the pain of always yearning for a family that's nonexistent
You settled with a life without me, please explain and offer wisdom
I waited years for that ray of light, viewing life through a foggy prism
Maybe it's biology or something in your genetic code
Maybe it's your drugs, liquor, cigarettes, and Methadone
You had me in your grasp and you still decided to let me go
Wasn't I worth fighting for? I guess I'll never know
Maybe I'm simply just too young to understand
Even foxes abandon babies when stress gets the upper hand
So I continue to escape in books, with Alice in Wonderland
I wouldn't wish this on an enemy for a hundred grand
Maybe you were just two humans who decided to reproduce
I developed from that single cell and now I'm out here singing blues
Looking out into the universe, introspecting, seeking clues
Thinking leaving you like you left me is finally what I need to do
I think it's time to walk away.
I'd give everything I got to stay,
But it's over now. It's over now.
There's so much that I want to say.
But none of it would cause a change,
So it's over now... Over now.
