How/why do you enjoy cooking for yourself?
I really like cooking for other people, I generally like to show my love for my friends through doing something for them or giving them things and cooking is a great middle ground.
I do not like cooking for myself. I have a odd/difficult relationship with food that has meant it’s taken years for me to enjoy food at all, but I just won’t put the effort in for myself. Then I get pretty crap or just OK food that just kind of feeds into the ‘it’s not worth it’ mindset.
I really want to enjoy cooking and eating for myself, especially as I’m currently money poor but have a load of spare time so I can make myself cheap, nice meals that aren’t just tofu and rice.
What is it about cooking that you all enjoy? I really want to be motivated and inspired, but eating a nice meal at the end isn’t hitting the way it needs to right now.
