An abrahamic poem
Important disclaimer: I do not belong to any of the Abrahamic faiths, and this is important to point out as some may take offense at the violent threats of fire and brimstone. This simply an attempt at imitation, of the Qur'an and of William Blake's Auguries of Innocence.
I swear by birds that fly;
I swear by raining sky;
I swear by Him Most High;
I swear the end is nigh.
The hue of gloaming's dye
Presents the meaning's why.
The newborn infant's cry
Does power man supply.
The land unsoaking dry
Is given life to sigh,
To life from death supply,
To answer humans' cry
Who with the Lord comply,
To give their life unshy
Desires unchaste deny.
To Father's creed they tie
Their lives to live and die.
Unweighted souls then fly,
To Fields Elysian hie,
To life unchaste goodbye,
They give with tearful eye,
With joyous joy of "aye".
Such is the gift of Sky
For those who did reply
To Father's bidding cry,
Who ne'er with Father vie,
Who ne'er with wrong comply,
Who shun the ways of sly
Perdition's evil "aye",
For aye to hearts most nigh.
The eyes that ne'er descry
The means depraved whereby
To Hell that souls unshy
Of wicked evil's lie
Then hie to lie for aye -
For those who did deny
The Life of Him Most High -
Will wish to close and dry
In blindness ne'er to vie
With disbelieving's lie,
When they're then made to cry
At Hell's red coals that fry
The flesh and bone and eye
Of all who did deny.
Let those who then espy
The signs of Father's sigh
Of life yet doomed to die -
That life did give to I,
To you and all who cry
To Him on whom rely
They do to mercy buy
With price of deeds' supply -
Prostrate and shake and cry
In awe of Him Most High.
