Don’t have a title yet, drop ideas in the comments. I wrote this hoping you other poets would share some of the emotion behind this.
The wind rattles through the needles
The fears of night are often needless
There is beauty in the calm
Some slumber, others are born
Drawn to the quiet, the silent hours
We move as owls through the night
Awaken the poets second sight
The lines are formed throughout the day
They spill out and ease the pain
Is it beauty or a brief release?
The pen chases away my sleep
But without it I wander in my dreams
The mind is dull without its stone
Words sharpen to the bone
They claw and tear at the veil
Glimpses beyond are covered well
Others before have written tales
I’ll chase them through the dark
The phantom ideas without a form
A simple word can fill the void
