In Chapter 3, we should be able to mine... (spoiler)

Spoiler

From the moment we jump in, we're surrounded by bodies. So many bodies. Bouncing off the hull, driving down morale, creating a stunning but unsettling vista. Every dismembered and far-flung segment of the Etemenanki has its own accompanying cloud of former crew, making it inadvisable to linger in their vicinity for any longer than necessary.

But what if we could kill two birds with one stone, turn a disadvantage into an advantage... or rather, a resource?

From another, less sentimental perspective, each of those debris fields represents literally tons of (mostly) carbon, floating around in convenient vacuum-dessicated lumps, free for the taking. We should be able to send in the ships and start gathering it up for processing. (We already have the option of doing this aboard the Tiqqun; this is just thinking a bit further outside the box, or the hull, as the case may be.) As a further bonus, once a location has been partially or completely "mined out", it should no longer inflict a penalty.

Morbid and practical. You really are a machine administrator…

That is a very morbid point of view, but it kind of makes sense. Floating corpses in space might be a bit too irradiated for use, but then again, there might be some that were protected by the hull of the Etemenanki. Interesting proposal

I mean you can already turn your own corpses into waste. Just seems logical to me.

At least they should taste better than bugs......right?

Honestly, I was thinking more in terms of industrial uses - like I said, carbon and thus Polymers etc - but fertilizer for the crops works too.

FOUND THE RIMWORLD PLAYER!

Can’t argue with the logic though.

Yeah, like, the UN super ship is practically the size of a plutoid, and it’s made out of extremely durable material, so there’s gotta be near infinite amounts of metal and electronics to strip mine—especially since the Tiqqun is SO SMALL compared to it. It’s like the ruin ship out of a Homeworld background lol

You won't fool me, Vanir Dolos.
