Scarlet Lady Deck 14, should I request a room change?

My SO and I have booked our first ever cruise next summer aboard the Scarlet Lady. Needless to say, we are very excited! I've been doing a ton of homework and I'm a bit concerned about our cabin location and noise. We are in a Sea Terrace room in the middle/aft area of Deck 14 and it looks like we're going to be directly below the galley. Has anyone here stayed in this area that could weigh in on the noise level? We're not super light sleepers but I'm wondering if it would be worth requesting a move to a different deck. I'm assuming that's something Sailor Services can do if there's availability right?

The Galley is open late with just a few options, but is usually pretty dead late at night. Where noise might come into play is early in the morning when the crew is starting prep for the day. If it concerns you, there is no reason not to change floors - if you got assigned deck 14, that means the ship is pretty wide open still. If you worked with an agent, they can tell you exactly what rooms are open so you can have the one you want :)

I had booked a Sea Terrace on Valiant for next year, originally the room I had been placed in was aft of Deck, seeing Gunbae etc above I requested to be moved to deck 12.

Won't hurt my ego not being higher up - my concerns were noise just like yours.

No idea if it's a true concern to have but I came across sailors my last voyage who had a room below the Mansion and they said it was a disaster.

Doubt any food venue would be anywhere near as bad for noise but I have no desire to find out.

Somebody on my cruising (Valiant Lady) a couple weeks ago had a room right below the galley and they had to request a new room. If I remember correctly it wasn't the noise of people talking or walking but rather the tables and chairs being slid across the floor at all hours of the night.

I was right above the Sip bar (limited view terrace) and expected that to not be an issue but there was one night when there seemed to be live music (or my neighbor's TV was just really loud?) or something going on at about 10:30. It didn't bother me too much as I wasn't going to sleep yet, but the room had other issues so I got moved, and in doing so upgraded to a Central Sea Terrace.

So if you're willing to roll the dice and see how it goes, then you may be able to get upgraded to a better room category if they have availability once you're in your room for a night or two. (This also means packing/unpacking almost everything up to move though. You can keep clothes on the hangers and just carry those if you want)

We were on Deck 14 Aft, below the Galley last month and the noise from furniture being moved around over head was pretty bad in the mornings. I don't remember hearing anything late at night, when the Galley was closed, but we would not get that cabin again.

i’m pretty sure this is where our room was. had no noise issues and it was very conveniently located. i was actually more nervous about being right next to the elevator, but it wasn’t bad at all!

I’d request deck 13 if you can. I like to be higher up, and it is in between decks with other staterooms.

how can you tell what you’re under/above of? Ive looked everywhere on the app for a map but couldn’t find one. we have limited sea terrace on floor 8, is that bad? we are also pretty sensitive to noise unfortunately

I don't know if it's in the app or not. Just do a Google search for Scarlet Lady deck plans. There's a lot out there.

If you're in the ltd cabins towards the front of the ship, that puts you close to the Manor and I've read you'll get a lot of noise until late at night since it's a nightclub.

oh man! thank you! I will definitely look online, are there any other areas we should avoid? any floors that are quietest?

Our first cruise, We were more mid, but on deck 14. Between the pool deck music and sliding chairs, it was noisy pretty much all the time. I would move

In August we stayed in a central sea terrace - room 14114A which is located under the galley, and we had no noise whatsoever.
