Apple Arcade Game Recommendations?

Discussion

Hey everyone! Long time Apple user and I’ve always been interested in trying out Apple Arcade but never have had the time to really sit and try out some of the games. I have a 3 month trial and now have some time to sit around and try out some. I’m more of a console gamer and haven’t played mobile games since the golden era of Temple Run and Jetpack Joyride so I’m just looking for some recommendations! If you could give a little bit of detail about the game you recommended it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone and I hope you all have a great day!

Momument Valley 2, What the Golf, Sneaky Sasquatch, Crossy Road Castle, Rayman Mini, Gibbon beyond the trees, Sayonara Wildhearts and Little Orpheus are the games I liked so far.

Dead Cells+ is one of the best roguelikes I have ever played, period, not just among AA games

Butter Royale. Oops wait. What the hell happened to that game? Just went out of business or what?

Apple dropped it about a month ago. The fact that nobody noticed is all you need to know. https://mobile.twitter.com/butter_royale

I’m speechless.

That was confusing. It looked like people were really enjoying that one. But then — poof!

It's surprising to me that the game would just disappear entirely.

The contract with Apple expired.

…but why kill it entirely? If it's not dead, I'm not seeing where else it is available, or would be available.

Is there a secret purgatory period where if an Apple Arcade game leaves the system, it can't appear elsewhere? That doesn't make sense, so why didn't it find its way to the Nintendo Switch, Steam, or just back on the regular Apple App Stores?

Lots of Apple Arcade games expanded to other consoles. What happened to this one? Perhaps it was deemed not successful enough, but the players seemed to like it.

Oregon Trail folks! I can't believe someone hasn't mentioned this yet. Hell, or Solitaire+.

Sayonara Wild Hearts is one of my favorite games ever. I played it on Playstation, but I believe it began life on Apple Arcade

  • Skate City
  • Mini Motorways
  • Alto's Adventure / Alto's Odyssey
  • TRANSFORMERS: Tactical Arena (It's grindy at the end game, but lots of fun in the beginning.)

Also, I like Star Trek Legends.

As for Jetpack Joyride, that's in Apple Arcade too, along with Tiny Wings. There are a lot of popular mobile games on Apple Arcade.

If you want more detail, I have a playlist about Apple Arcade games I like.

Gris and Dead Cells are console games that are on the system and both are great. Dead cells is a great rogue lite

Cat Quest 2 was fun, same with Castlevania

IIRC, I put about 10 hours into Cat Quest II. It was fun, but I never finished it. I don't see myself renewing my AA subscription let a lone anytime soon, so I figured I'm going to have to let that slide :X Curveball was I did get my own Switch, and ended up getting it on there (it's on sale for 85% off, so for $2.25 until Jan. 1st.)

I just started Apple Arcade trial too and took an instant liking to Zen Pinball Party.

Quick questions (as I am new to Apple): I noticed the games are downloaded to my device. What happens if my subscription lapses? Do the games just fail to work? Also, do the games require wifi/data to run or do they work offline? Thanks!
