New to Wauwatosa
I moved to Wauwatosa a few days ago and I’m new to the area. What are some places I can go to to meet new people and what are fun hangout areas?

Cranky Al's should be a great place to start!
What’s the best thing to get there?
Breakfast Pizza & Donuts! Yummy
Cruellers. But I love their double chocolate cake donuts and their maple raised donuts, personally.
North Avenue Grill as well
Welcome!! r/Milwaukee has a ton of resources including a best of thread every year:
https://www.reddit.com/r/milwaukee/comments/z1vs65/best_of_milwaukee_2022/
There's also a calendar in the sidebar with huge lists of events every month. The Milwaukee subreddit also has a discord with events and meetups posted.
Tosa has North Ave. and downtown as the most busy areas - cool bars, shops and such. Don't limit yourself though! The entire Milwaukee metro area is within 20 min driving in every direction so check out the city and all the suburbs!
I'm gonna toss out Ono Kine Grindz as a suggestion. It is on North Ave. Authentic Hawaiian food that absolutely slaps. I've had Hawaiians in my life give it the thumbs up!
Hoyt park is close to there for recreation, if you have a dog there is Currie dog park, there’s a climbing gym within 15 mins of tosa, I think camp bar still has trivia nights.
I’ll definitely try trivia night thank you
The beer garden there is lovely in the summer.
drunken cobra also has a weekly trivia night. as well as a karaoke and a bingo night.
I’m a fan of Drunken Cobra and Rays Tap Room
Welcome to Wauwatosa! My family moved here last year and we love it here. Join us at r/Wauwatosa!
The village/Hart Park area is going to be your friend. Lots to do there, many events at Hart Park especially in the summer. Some good restaurants. It's the place to be.
North avenue has a decent strip of bars and restaurants.
Check with city hall about information from the parks and rec department if they have any classes for adults.
Walter’s and Club Tap are the neighborhood taverns. I haven’t been to either in years but I recall them being pretty friendly to people outside the regular circles.
Lmao that's actually hilarious. I'm supposed to move there Tuesday after my car appointment. The weather held me back the last few days.
Yeah this weather was crazy.
Yes it was. This is my first winter with this beater I got, and it definitely does not hold up well lol.
I'm not sure about meeting people, so I'm in the same boat as you. Our apartment is by North Avenue, so I plan to be walking there to check out the restaurants/bars and see if they have any cool events going on.
I used to live on North Ave before I bought my house in July (which is still in Tosa - love it here)
Bars: Camp Bar Leffs Lucky Town (great for sports) Drunken Cobra Lions Tail Brewery (haven’t been yet but friends say it’s great) Walters (dive bar - great burgers for a great price)
Restaurants to try in Tosa: North Ave Grill (brunch & dinner options with American food) Paloma (imo best taco spot in MKE - they make their own infused tequila) Kin by Rice n Roll (Sushi/Ramen) India Garden (Indian cuisine) Cranky Als (donuts) Rocket Baby Bakery (cafe type food - great bread and French bakery) BBS Pizza on North Ono Kine Grindz (Hawaiian? There’s a reason why they win local awards, so delicious) Anodyne Coffee (coffee)
Since Tosa is so close to downtown, you can find something to do almost every weekend on Instagram, FB, meet up, etc. Midwest nice is a thing and everyone is very welcoming.
If you like to read, the Tosa library is amazing.
In the summer there is a monthly casual bike ride that meets up at Rocket Baby Bakery called the Full Moon Bike ride. It’s fun and you can meet cool people. There are mountain bike trails and regular bike trails that can get you across town too.
Curry dog park if you have a pooch. They have a spot for small dogs and large dogs.
Couple of golf courses around the area too.
Welcome to Tosa! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
I got here late last night and am taking a break from unpacking. Most of these places are right by each other, and less than half a mile from me. I'm excited to take a break, but also excited I get to walk everywhere again.
ETA I chose Walter's. It'll get me in the mood to wash the dishes (they're all brand new).
I’ll be down there too eventually to check out all the bars and restaurants
Sadly that's all the advice I got. Good luck meeting the people you want to find!
Curling club
I miss Kilwaukee 😆
Wauwatosa is close enough that I think you could get some additional advice on r/Milwaukee. Welcome!
Yep; tons of us Tosa locals over there. I'll throw out r/Wauwatosa as well, but it's a fair bit quieter.
