not vision hands formed to

fists kissing my temples from

a half-effort father. Placid

mother watches sipping

coffee wondering where they ought

to go on their date, telling me

to shut my mouth when daddy's

beating. "We all go through it", she

said stone faced, patting my head

in corporate fashion after

the act.
