The “event” is Raskolnikov’s (initial?) meeting with Luzhin. “Her” refers to Pulkheriya Aleksandrovna. I’m curious about the use of “fear and trembling” here. My quick sleuthing suggests Dostoevsky never read Kierkegaard. I’m aware that the phrase “fear and trembling” appears in the Bible and am wondering whether the original Russian words are the same as those that appear in a Russian language Bible, whether the translator (Katz) is using “editorial license,” and/or whether I’m trying too hard to find some significance in a coincidental turn of phrase.

Originally, a friend was going to go with me, but he bailed. Now my daughter wants to go, but she’s under 21. More than you needed to know. The tickets are posted on Stub Hub for $41 each, but I’ll sell then to someone through Cashortrade for less, and fees will be reduced.
