I moved to Ireland which has been largely positive, but one area I’m struggling with is pulled pork.

I have not found a pork shoulder in any of the name brand grocery stores. Not one. The butcher at my local farmers market tells me it’s an uncommon cute here, for whatever reason — and that’s a man I’ve bought ground goat from.

I can find shoulders at 2 actual butchers’ shops. These are fancy places in fancy neighborhoods and you see it on the price tag. This is no $1.79/lb shoulder from BJ’s, we’re talking >€8/kg. They tend to be smaller shoulders as well.

Cut to today, I’m in a Polish grocery store trying to find something else elusive (Lime Juice????) and I stumble upon a butcher’s case

1 year leases are typical. 30+ day notice is required on rolling leases after that. It’s not like it’s ever some big surprise when a unit is going to come available.

How does it benefit anybody to wait until the last minute to list units, and then have them for immediate move-in? It’s obviously horrendous for renters, especially those trying to leave an existing rolling lease. But I don’t see how it benefits estate agents or landlords to do this either?

Are there other countries that are like this? Is there a policy solution?

Anybody know of options for renting cargo bikes?

Have a mini-fridge that’s given out so I have to take it to the bring center. Not keen to take a GoCar if I don’t have to.
