Most devices have a special mode to make the screen less bright and the colors warmer at night. This is something that I really want I get working with my RayNeo smart glasses (Air 2 and Air 4 Pro).

I've put the Air 4 Pro glasses into HDR10 mode and it was able to achieve these results:

  • macOS 26.5 Night Shift - NOT Working

  • iOS 26.5 Night Shift - Working

  • Android 16 Night Mode - NOT Working

  • Windows 11 25H2 Night Light - Working

Slightly different results with the Air 2 glasses:

I'm having trouble adapting to "shoes off" mentality. There are a some challenges I'm facing. To be frank, everyone in my life who advocates for "shoes off" is not responsible for the activities I'm about to list, and so I am at a loss for how to approach these in a practical and efficient way.

  1. Loading and unloading things from your car, like groceries or luggage, will often require you to go through the home entrance multiple times. Do "shoes off" people actually change their shoes each time, and if you do, how do you justify the time it wastes?

  2. Carrying bulky and heavy objects, like furniture, into and out of a home. Especially if multiple people have to carry it. Is each person re

If you park on A1A and both ParkMobile's app and the meters are having errors that prevent you from paying, the City of Delray will ticket you anyways, and they'll also reject your ticket appeal. FYI.

Has Google indicated anything about adding browser profiles to ChromeOS? This is the one thing that stops me from embracing a Chromebook. What is the point of investing in Google Fast Pair headphones if the feature only works with one Google identity? Let me have my different browser profiles all on one ChromeOS user!

Has Google ever mentioned plans to have some type of integration for Google Pixel users that function's like the Phone.app on macOS Tahoe?

For those who do not know, macOS Tahoe and iOS 26 introduced the ability to send and receive calls from a Mac. I'm on Android, specifically a Google Pixel 7, and a similar capability would be very valuable to me.

I'm aware of Google Voice, but the limitation there is I can't use my existing phone number to send and recieve calls. Having a more convenient way to handle these calls would make life so much easier in the United States, where apps like WhatsApp and Telegram haven't taken over this part of day-to-day living.

Hi r/MINISFORUM,

Could someone with an MS-01 please check their BIOS for me? I'm interested in systems with a specific setting for In-Band Error Correction Code (IBECC) and rumor has it this may exist in the MS-01.

The "In-Band ECC Support" setting can sometimes be found in the BIOS under Chipset > System Agent (SA) Configuration > Memory Configuration.

For more background info on the IBECC for MS-01 rumor, check this forum post: https://forum.level1techs.com/t/in-band-ecc-ibecc-on-minisforum-ms-01/223359

For more info on IBECC in general, check out this this article about IBECC in the ASRock Industrial NUCS BOX-1360P/D4: https://www.anandtech.com/show/18732/asrock-industrial-nucs-box136

There are many keyboards sold by vendors who advertize VIA (e.g. QMK) but who don't have their boards in QMK mainline and/or don't have source code available.

Does the community have any proven methods for reverse engineering the firmware on these QMK keyboards so that the firmware source can be opened up?

The official Ubuntu 24.04 installer will guide you through an encrypted ZFS-on-root installation: https://www.phoronix.com/news/OpenZFS-Ubuntu-24.04-LTS

I have one such system newly set up, but before I start working on it, I'd like to perform some snapshots. I'd also like to have a ZFS boot menu of some sort. How?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the latest ZFS documentation from Ubuntu is extremely generic. If you read it, you might notice it doesn't even mention Ubuntu itself: https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/using-zfs-snapshots-clones#1-overview

Is anyone aware of open source or local-first apps capable of running on the Chromecast with Google TV? From what I've seen, the closest thing available is the Plex app. I'm looking for a way to stream music / video from the local network to this device. To be clear, I'm looking for apps that run on the device, not Chromecast compatible apps that can cast to it.

It used to be that in lieu of CPEs, it was possible to renew the CISSP certification by simply re-taking the exam. I was informed this week by ISC2 Member Support that this option is no longer offered, and 140 CPE hours are not the only way to renew.

Does anyone know when the rules regarding this changed?

Many places online still renewals are possible via retaking the exam, including the current CISSP page on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Certified_information_systems_security_professional&oldid=1187423183#:~:text=or%20re%2Dtaking%20the%20exam
