Facing is driving me nuts - help me figure out what the pattern is skipping!

reddit.comI'm stuck on what else I can do to stop the mildew smell! left in a washer for several days, then put on a deep clean with detergent/biz and dried.
this hoodie is the first one I ever made and I wear it all the time, even in summer!! I'm frustrated that I made the mistake in the first place.
what I've done since:
it's been washed and dried multiple times along with other non-smelling clothes that are coming out just fine. my routine is the HEB detergent (the one with lipase), 2 tbsp of biz, and citric acid in the rinse. I've done hot and warm washes, and after drying I can STILL smell it.
this latest time I added downy fabric rinse (rinse out odor) and at least husband likes the effect
I have a pair of pants that no longer fit, and I'd like to take them up a size or two...but I've already done that to one pair and I don't want them to be the same style!
They're plain, medium wash denim jeans with no current mending needed. Straight leg but are fitting more like a skinny jean at the moment. The previous pair I updated by cutting down the side seam and adding in about a 2.5" stripe of a contrasting denim - I can't think of a way to make these bigger that isn't just going to be the same thing in a different color.
There’s a previous question about Austin, but it was geared towards a Canadian and mostly recommended Joanns (RIP)
I’m from a few hours away, and I’ll be in for the weekend! Other than Austin Creative Reuse, where’s a good place to shop? Specifically interested in non-high-end apparel fabric 😁
I have a character I would love to make come to life, but I'm struggling to think of how to make this basket backpack work in a way that's sturdy!
My goals:
- A functional backpack I can store items in, as this is something I want to wear to the renn faire/LARPing
- It doesn't have to be one large compartment. Each basket can be its own 'pocket' and open in different ways
- Have at least two baskets, ideally more to help fit the vision
- Lightweight so a non-athletic person won't struggle to carry it. (it's me. I'm working out but only recently)
Other things of note:
- I can take care of the ribbons, hanging potions, and any linings that I might put in there
- I have access to PVC p
