Specifically for kids, but could be applied to all.
What should be dropped from training practice? Are there drills which are essentially a waste of time that you see coaches using?

For context: I’m a design systems designer. For years, I haven’t had access directly to code. It’s been in Figma. We have a scalable design system with semantic tokens (a brand change or a new theme can be added immediately)
Recently, our org allowed Design access to the production code.
We’ve known for a while, that some pages are inconsistent across the app, but today I had the realisation that the production front end UI code is a mess. I was truly surprised that engineering haven’t been building in a scalable way like our designers are using the Figma Design libraries. Things are hard coded, there’s different naming and token conventions across the app and the colors, spacing, radii, t
I’m working with a company that held their design system in Figma but now wants Figma to be a consumer of a JSON source of truth.
Figma will be used as a playground to design system updates but the components in Figma will come from JSON.
I’ve been wondering about bridging this change between design and tech. It’s going to be a big change for designers. Any advice?
The longer I’ve been in the game, the more I’m tired of delivering new feature after new feature.
There simply doesn’t feel time in the roadmap to actually improve the complaints I see customers making each month. It’s burning me out knowing that there are customers using the product and getting frustrated by our initial release and still haven’t improved it since it’s mvp.
How do I make space in the calendar year and convince the business to go back prioritise existing features.
It’s always the next new thing vs making the old thing better.
I keep finding that my watch is going dead. I want to track sleep at night and heart rate in the day/night.
So I’m struggling to find the right time to charge?
Is there a powerful charger to speed up the waiting time? When I’m having a shower would be ideal.
Our designers are always asking which pattern to use and when. Most of this is documented, but who has time to sift through pages of docs.
I’ve always wanted a better search capability but seeing more people building company-level RAG bots makes me think a design systems one would work really well for product, design and engineering.
It’s all based on an old era where two parents (and even grandparents) weren’t working full time.
Let alone the learning outcomes and socialisation for kids (particularly those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds) is shown to be negative.
Is 6 weeks really justified anymore?
Let alone customer facing impacts of being irresponsible. The more I see internal teams messing around with customer data and processes, the more I see some huge payouts on its way.
We had UX Design and Frontend engineering.
What is starting to be apparent in our org is that designers are still far better at design than the front end engineers, now they can produce front end experiences, using AI tools.
What is also apparent is that front end ‘engineering’ is an entirely different skill set and valued.
Our org is proposing breaking out front end design and engineering.
I’ve seen Design engineer roles pop up, but I have to say, Front end design feels closer to what’s going on.
Thoughts?

I don’t want weave for marketing images. I want it for software ideation. It would be an incredible feature to do node based code variants.
Has anyone found a product that does this?
Figma, please look to pivot toward code variants in weave.
I’ve tried and it sucks. Even using templates, it just doesn’t understand what the design needs to do.
Has anyone found a workflow to go from chat to PowerPoint presentation
If a dev alters a component in GitHub, does Code Connect tell the designer and dev that the ‘contract’ has broken?
It would be amazing if production code fails QA because the component has failed the json contract (especially with AI tools)
Has anyone set up a json contract? How are you using and managing it?
I love the concept, but unsure of the implementation
