Synopsis:

  1. More men, especially divorced men see the financial cost of marriage and decide the benefits aren’t worth it. Another financial point that I can relate to is that often shared expenses are about what the woman wants, not what the man values. (He doesn’t value that new couch, the expensive dinner out, the package trip to Europe to look at churches)

  2. Men also see that relationships often mean giving up freedom, autonomy, etc., and again wonder if these sacrifices are worth it. I definitely see this in my current relationship: she views any free time as time I should be doing something she wants to do or something for her. I find this po

In your opinion is this a move towards non discrimination or the opposite?

Personally, I think there’s too much attention given to the label DEI rather than focusing on discrimination. Discriminatory DEI can simply adopt a new name and not all practices labeled DEI are necessarily discriminatory.

What are your thoughts?

Let’s say you had consensual sex with a woman which ends up with her wrongfully accusing you of rape and filing charges. Your lawyer tells you that while there’s no real evidence of rape, the fact there was sex along the accuser’s testimony means there’s a 25% chance the jury will rule guilt likely resulting in a 20 year prison sentence.

The prosecution has however offered a plea deal that would avoid prison time resulting in a 2 year probation and community service if you confess to a lesser misdemeanor sexual assault charge.

Would you take the plea deal and confess to a crime you didn’t commit? Do you think there are many innocent men who have falsely confessed under such plea

“Modern Feminism has two distinct sides to it: (1) an articulate political and economic side embracing demands for so-called rights; and (2) a sentimental side which insists in an accentuation of the privileges and immunities which have grown up, not articulately or as the result of definite demands, but as the consequence of sentimental pleading in particular cases. In this way, however, a public opinion became established, finding expression in a sex favouritism in the law and even still more in its administration, in favour of women as against men.”

This quote addressing how criminal sentencing used to be equal, but how feminist efforts resulted in easier sentencing for women.

No great surprise, but sad (in my opinion) to see due process procedures being so eroded. I don’t think such procedures can even be considered a kangeroo court since there’s no longer any pretense of a court like proceeding. No jury of one’s peers, no right of discovery, no right to face one’s accuser, no standard of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. A single, potentially biased “investigator” deciding guilt or innocence (responsibility or not) without these basic due process practices.

In contrast I know that some claim that denying due process practices is essenti

Some of the biggest opponents to the ERA were women such as Phyllis Schlafly who argued the ERA could bring an end to the privileges women enjoyed, such as selective service exemption. Similarly, there were women who objected to guaranteed equal voting rights for women, fearing such guaranteed equality might mean an end to privileges afforded women at the time. Here’s a list of female privileges these women published in 1915:

Of course, just because the 19th amendment wasn’t passed until 1920, doesn’t mean no women ever

There have been many posts in this sub showing men are victims of violent crime at least as much as women yet there remains this fallacy women are more victimized and we need to focus on their safety.

I recently had a reminder this isn’t just true overall but also within other communities such as the outdoor community where another sub recently brought up a cherry picked example of a man harassing women in the outdoors, the article and sub of course using this to claim women face some huge risk backpacking that men don’t.

Fortunately, there’s actually some good data on this showing that assaults backpacking occur at a fraction of the overall national level and that women are at no mo

This is inspired by a “discussion” I had with misandrist yesterday in which she made some misleading comments about men and driving, misrepresentations I often hear.

It’s often stated men have more accidents are therefore more reckless and should rightfully pay higher premiums. Note this isn’t just a statement of fact but a non sequitur argument omitting the whole story. Just because men have more total accidents doesn’t mean they are more reckless or even mean they have higher accident rates. Consider:

“men account for 62% of all driving but only cause 58% of all accidents.” (1)

So, men do have more accidents than women in total: 58% (and higher insurance claims), but that’s not th

I just read an article about people attacking Jews based on social media prompts to do so. I similarly read an article about how recent events such as college support for Hamas reveal dormant antisemitism. But is that really the case? Did those who went out to attack Jewish people really have a long term hatred or were they just looking for an excuse to be violent? During my time in higher education, I felt there were often students who just wanted to rebel and would jump at any cause allowing them to do so. They weren’t initially angry about an issue, rather they needed an issue to direct their anger upon.

I remember thinking the same about the BLM riots in Portland which ironicall

This is the sub I participate in most but I seek out many subs and other venues addressing gender dynamics and politics. I was actually a leading contributor in Yahoo gender studies before it closed. (If anyone else here was, please feel free to message me)

As many here are probably aware, I’m especially passionate about the discrimination against males in education, and frequently get support here when I mention discrimination in education. Sadly, that’s not the case everywhere. I’ve started posting in a higher education sub and get very beat up with many downvotes for advocating non discrimination. (I was actually banned for advocating equal rights for men but was reinstated on appe

The linked article addresses a man who was sentenced and served 5 years in prison before DNA evidence was uncovered eventually proving his innocence at a cost of £500,000 to him and family.

Depp was similarly able to sue and prove the defamation against him because he had the financial means to.

The Duke lacrosse players probably wouldn’t have been able to prove their innocence if not for the fact they came from fairly wealthy families.

While it may often be men who have to pay huge sums to prove their innocence, it can happen to accused women as well, the linked article providing a case example of that.

While organizations such as the innocence project have have helped vindic

I really began to wonder this a few days ago when I noticed posts that advocates men not be discriminated against getting more thumbs down than thumbs up.

I’ve seen more posts claiming this sub or MRAs are anti-female. I suspect a large number of these are feminist trolls. I similarly see more posts pushing the false narrative that feminism is about gender equality.

I’m all for hearing a feminist perspective on issues, but it seems to me there’s an increase in feminists not here to give a different perspective but simply trying to undermine men’s rights and falsely paint feminism as the movement of equality.

Is anyone else seeing this?
