I’ve been building cars for a long time but never done a Honda. I’ve basically stuck to American powered stuff.

What I’m building now is a 1960s era Indy Roadster replica. I want to put in a K Series engine hooked to a Ford Rocket 4 speed. I’ve got the bellhousing and trans already sorted out, but I want a sanity check on my K Series plan.

Here is my plan:

-K24A2

-PnPduino ECU

-ITBs from Jackspania

-Custom headers (no cat or muffler, straight pipe because racecar)

-Tucked style harness

Engine will have no accessories other than alternator.

I’ve heard that solid mounting these engines is a bad idea due to vibration. So I guess I’ll do poly bushings.

I have a 35 mile commute, three days per week. And take my two kids to school every morning. I’m looking for something that’s as comfortable as possible while getting at least 20mpg on average, reasonably safe for the kids, and ideally has a little bit of car enthusiast appeal. Don’t care about speed but it would be nice if it was fun to drive in some sort of way. Ideally I want to spend around $5-7k but I’d go up a bit if something really strikes my fancy. It has to be somewhat reliable and bonus point for being easy to work on. I have a shop and a lift in my backyard, so I’ll fix whatever breaks myself.

Currently I drive a 2011 Raptor most days, but it’s up over 130k miles now and has a

Is this as awful as I think it is? Or am I overreacting?

I started at this account manager position 4 months ago, but have been in sales for about 15 years. This is the craziest incentive plan I’ve ever seen, but yet the company has no turnover and everyone seems happy. I don’t understand what I’m missing, because the pay seems wildly low compared to what is the norm. During the interview, I was only told that incentive was based on growth, but that my expected earnings ($90-100k) was definitely realistic.

Background: I manage accounts totaling about $12m gross per year. My growth of my account base is about $40k per month in margin.

Base pay: $25 an hour

Incentive 1: 2% of margin grow
