I have catastrophic tinnitus and benzos are the only thing that calms it down. They messed up my script and my Doc is on vacation till next Monday and I just need to not go into withdraw. Does anyone know a doctor I can see?

Here is my story if you care to read. I urge you to protect your hearing system and get a cat scan of your temporal bone to check for SCDS. https://hyperacusiscentral.org/travis-hyperacusis-story/

For those that care this is a simple explanation of what happened to me & many who get past mild symptoms of auditory damage.

If someone has reactive tinnitus, hyperacusis, and noxacusis but never gets to a noise environment quiet enough to fall below their sound intolerance threshold, the auditory system essentially remains in a constant state of overstimulation. The inner ear and auditory nerves are forced to process sound that is already beyond what the system can handle, so the brain and auditory pathways stay hyper-excited. This prevents any period of rest or recovery, which allows the abnormal firing patterns and central gain mechanisms to become more deeply entrenched.

Over time, th

I'll try to make a short story of this... but I need help. I am disabled fully at 41 and my surrogate family helps me stay alive, but my sister is in trouble. She has a man narcissistic man who has taken up residence in her house. He's vile, drug user, medium build man, 5 foot 7, guy has a ostomy bag, gets winded easy, probably 165lbs, he's scared of tall gingers or any real man.

She's asked him to move out many times but he love bombs back and she's scared of him. He's a total pos manipulating abuser. Talks down to her constantly. Throws drinks on her, has assaulted her, kicks doors in, punches holes in the walls of her house that she owns & terrorizes her.

She's a nurse & is studying to

This is just mt opinion and not medical advice.

This is a horrible injure to get. And like most injuries they require rest. Resting the whole system from sound is your best way to get any remission of symptoms. Just because you got s level of symptoms that still allows you to take in sound doesn't mean it's like that for everyone.

There are many unfortunate people who get damaged past the sound "therapy" aka masking symptoms & thinking u did something other than mask. Please stop promoting using sound as if it's a treatment. It's not. You are just soothing your auditory system with sound. You couldn't do that if you have severe hyperacusis or reactive Tinnitus. Pushing TRT or sound therap

Resting your ears by minimizing exposure to noise can help alleviate symptoms of << Reactive Tinnitus, Hyperacusis & Noxacusis >> conditions characterized by increased ringing, pain or discomfort triggered by sounds. Here's how resting your ears can be beneficial:

  1. Reduction in Excitotoxicity: By avoiding loud noises, you minimize excitotoxicity, which is the overactivation of glutamate receptors leading to cellular damage. This reduction can help prevent further damage to the auditory system.

  2. Decreased Inflammation: Limiting sound exposure can help reduce inflammation in the ear or associated neural pathways, which is a significant factor contributing to noxacusis.
