If you've been paying attention to the lgbt- and trans-focused subs the last couple of days, you may have noticed that there are multiple posts about the trans woman who was attacked on the street in France. While some of those posts focused on simply reporting the story, there are a selection of these posts that attempt to frame the issue as a racial one. In this case, the posts focus on the fact that her attackers were Algerian, and use that framing to drive both racism and religious bias.

This is not an issue unique to this single story. The same thing happened in the wake of the Pulse Nightclub shooting, and it happens every time a tragedy occurs that fits the purpose of turning white

Hey, don't worry. It's not a suicide post; I'm tough like that. If I ever die, it'll be on top of a pile of dead enemies.

I felt like it would have been rude not to say something, so I wasn't able to avoid a short conversation while the rest of the raid logged in.

After a short exchange and hearing my voice, she said something to me like "Oh, you're actually a real girl! I can't tell you how excited I am about that." [About having another woman in the guild, I assume.]

I'm pretty self-consci

They seem to think that I'm my girlfriend's roommate or friend or something, and that she owns the house.

I'm not sure what they think happened to the "guy who used to live here." Maybe they think I've got his body stashed under the floorboards? I'm tempted to go out back late at night with a sack filled with pillows and bury it in the garden while looking around furtively.
