I’ve been an Uber driver picking up Uber passengers at Red Lot 7 since before ‘vid and have noticed the steady decline in training in how that lot is supposed to be run every year. It’s clear that that institutional knowledge has not been passed on to future sets of guards, with each year trying to figure it out on their own.
Tonight, CPUC was out doing stings, and the guards must have been interpreting their instructions especially wrong in a bizarre attempt to impress them? Let’s go over how the lot used to be run pre ‘vid vs how eff’d up it was last night.
Before ‘vid:
All A frame letters on the left side of the A frame traffic circle
Cars stopped in the left of the two lanes of
21k rides. I’ve seen a lot of scam calls. This latest one claimed they were from support and that they were getting reports that I didn’t match the provided picture. They then asked for infos…yadda yadda yadda. I told them I’d call them right back and hung up. What do you know, the juicy ride was canceled.
Remember, folks, never give info over the phone to Uber unless you initiate the call.
I’ve got an old phone that only goes to 15. Anyone have an estimate how long I can drive until they force me to upgrade the app?
I’ve got an old iPhone that doesn’t support iOS version 16. My Crunchyroll app worked fine until yesterday, when it insisted I upgrade to a version that only works in version 16 or later. /fml.
Time for me to buy some cheap candy. Who’s got the best sales?
