I don’t know why, but for some reason I dreamt that I’d purchased a Deepsea Sea-Dweller from a private seller. Specifically, it was the old reference because I vividly recall it having the 3135. I’d authenticated it, but somehow in the dream, I’d made some hilariously obvious misjudgments. Later on in the dream, I realised that the watch was obviously fake, and began to panic. I then woke up with the intent of opening the watch to inspect the movement. I then realised that I don’t own one.

What a weird fucking dream.

Anyone else miss GOTV? Not to say that the production quality isn’t decent, but watching major matches through GOTV on one’s own setup and game settings just made it feel a lot more engaging. I’m not sure why they got rid of it. I recall back in 2016 being so impressed that CSGO was capable of it. Now we’re in 2026 and my rig is maybe 5-6X faster than what it was back then; we’re also on an entirely new engine. It just doesn’t feel like a feature that needed removing.

I’ve been holding off on purchasing a few skins that’d come down considerably over the past week. I did so because I wanted to be cautious and not jump in blindly.

Of those skins, the Eye of Horus was the primary target, and it just got pumped. I don’t get it by this point.

The B the Monster, MP9 Hot Rod, and a few others also seem to be going up. I’d already sold my M4 Fade to compensate for the Eye of Horus, so I’m pretty much screwed now. Timing like this is honestly just disheartening.

Sometimes it feels like the average person isn’t meant to win and that it’s reserved for a particular group of people.

I suspect many traders are forgetting a few key elements. Valve does not go back on previous decisions, and they don’t allow players to do so either. Reversals are different because Valve offered a clear motivation for why they implemented them.

What won’t happen:

1. Old collections will never return to the game in any capacity.
2. Sticker removal/repair tools will never be implemented.
3. Trading will likely never be removed.
4. Cases will be banned and Valve will not allow you to open them.
5. Old knife finishes will never be added to terminals.

This happened twice last year, but the items were sold for relatively good deals under buy orders I’d placed. In those cases I understood why they were having second thoughts.

Over the past few days, this has happened to me twice. In both cases, the seller and I had agreed on a price via the “Offer” tab, only for the seller to decline the offer minutes later.

The first item was 0.29 Ultra Violent for $1270 and the second was a 0.02 Queen’s Gambit for $405. In both cases, the sale value wasn’t far below asking price, and it’s not like these dudes were taking a couple of hours to ponder things.

I think we should normalise calling watches by their actual names. I keep seeing “Starbucks,” “Batgirl,” and “Batman,” and it’s getting really old. Why can’t we just say “green bezel Submariner” or “blue/black bezel GMT.” Don’t even get me started on “Panda Daytona.” Surely I’m not the only Rolex enthusiast who’s fed up with this TikTok brain BS.

We refer to the Explorer, Submariner (classic), Datejust, and Day-Date lines by their actual names, and it’s just so much classier. I think “Paul Newman Daytona” and the like are fair because they reference prominent figures who popularised particular references, but all these pet names have gotta go.

The unboxing experience is pretty similar to that of a modern Tudor, but the golden coronet is pretty striking in person (a lot more than I thought it’d be). Regular players with conservative to mid-range inventories - sub-$5K these days - want commission too. The saddest part is that we all now have to wait 8 days before getting paid, and we still lose commission to CSfloat every time we sell something.

I recently purchased a pair of A50 Gen 5s from Amazon’s EU store (ES in this case). I like Amazon EU because the shipping times to South Africa are fast via DHL. I recently acquired my headphones but found that the Base Station is dead. I would ship it back to Amazon, but their coverage for returns is low and return shipping ended up costing too much to justify.

I had my M9 Marble up on CSFloat. I was just in game and hadn’t been checking my phone for around 10m-15m. The person who’d bought my knife added me on Steam. A few minutes later he commented on my profile asking me to accept the offer, which resulted in him getting a temporary community ban… I realised what had happened when I went to go trade him the knife.
