Context: I have this friend, he’s brown (south asian), international student, upper class/ wealthy, and known “contrarian.” He makes jokes at my expense pretty often whenever we hang out. He makes jokes about other people too. Very insensitive jokes but since he’s known as a clown in the friend group everyone ignores that shit. Today while hanging out with my good friend he made a joke that goes like this “of course they forgot about it you’re black.” The idea here was that black peoples are an afterthought/ routinely ignored. The context was we were ordering from drive thru and the man forgot what I specifically ordered. This comment pissed me off so much that I called him out on it and ask

I experienced FGM as a child. I tried to run away, usually it’s performed by women the person who did it to me was a man who was a religious/ medical professional. I was 9. I still remember trying to run away. Today I told my friend the reason I struggle with being ok with men/ nervous around them was because I was SAd as a child. I consider it SA because I didn’t consent. I didn’t want it. I hated a man/ person whatever touching me like that. I buried it for so long but I still hate it. I hate it so much but I also don’t want to misconstrue/ make people think I was raped as a child. Idk. I’m really sad. I didn’t want it to happen.

Hello my 9 months old kitten pooped in the tub today. Here are the facts:

  • got neutered over two weeks ago
  • had diarrhoea that was black coloured
  • we waited 12 hours before taking him to the vet, didn’t take him cause he got better quickly
  • he’s been peeing in the tub frequently before the neutering but there was an uptick in the peeing after
  • on the day he had black diarrhoea he was acting super weird

Dysfunctional families

Support/Advice 🫂

How do you ladies deal with dysfunctional family dynamics? I love my family to death but our dynamics is so unhealthy. I’m moving out in a week and it’s like all my resentment is just pouring out for no reason. I’m talking old resentments that I thought I moved past. I feel like I’m defined by my family and the position I occupy within it. I want to move past it all and become who I know I am deep down.

Ok this is super stupid. I come from a family that is super anxious my sister went and got an HIV test because she was convinced she had it. She’s never done anything sexual. It’s crazy I made fun of her for it. Ok so on to me now I have nasal polyps two weeks ago I did a water rinse on my nose. I didn’t know you’re not supposed to use tap water. I think I boiled it though. I don’t remember now I’m convinced I have brain eating amoebas and I’m holding back from crying all day. Pls anyone help me out here.

Hi! So I’ve failed a lot in my life. I’m currently 21 and will be heading back to university as a second year student. For a long time failure defined me. I took some time off and learned that it’s OK. I wonder if any of you have experienced failure and decided to say “fuck it” and work your way back up? I love the shit out of a good triumphing besides all odds stories. I want to normalize the shit out of failure and by doing that lessen the all consuming shame that usually follows it. I’m learning that shame is fear turned inwards (yes I’m quoting the man who fell to earth, I love me some black scifi sue me). Anyways share away if you have a story :)

I know I’m having an OCD spike rn. My mind is opening up stuff I’ve been over with years ago. I was 100% wrong in each instance but I can’t go back and change it/ apologize to the people I’ve harmed cause I’d be reopening the scars. How do I reconcile my past self with who I am now?

My mother has never liked me. I can’t quite put a finger on when I found out. She’s just has never liked me. In my childhood it was like eh whatever but in my mid to late teenage years it hit me. The woman who gave birth to me just doesn’t like me. It hurt so bad. I’d cry at night. I’d just be so depressed. It’s crazy cause she’s legit has always disliked me. I remember being nine and getting blamed for everything. “Bleep is so clumsy” “Bleep is so slow” “Bleep is so quite” “Bleep is so lazy.” As much I’ve changed throughout the years I know I was such a sweet kid. I didn’t deserve any of that. I wasn’t bad I was just a kid. A quiet kid with big emotions who’d check on her mom at night to se

Ok was gonna make a whole post about a mistake I made at work which turns out I didn’t actually make. Basically my working memory is absolute shit and I gaslit myself into believing I made a mistake.

Didn’t get paid for almost a month so two paychecks and I told my manager I won’t be coming in until I get paid. The place I work is terrifyingly cold and I work 11 hour shifts. Since I don’t have money I couldn’t buy any heating pads and cold protection gear. My boss agreed but I still feel guilty. I came in two of my four day shift. My third day shift a blizzard is happening and they’re probably going to be understaffed.
