The thermostat is shut off but the furnace keeps blasting. The apartment is sweltering!

This seems like a maintenance emergency to me. The property management company emailed and said somebody won't be here to look at it for 5 days. (It's supposed to go up to 82 on Tuesday).

Is this unsafe? Am I overreacting? What should I do till then?

The house I looked at for $245 k will have a monthly payment of $2,400.

The house I looked at for $225,000 will have a monthly payment of $2,000. ($20k difference = -$400/mo payment)

The house I looked at for $159,000, which is $60,000 less than that, has a monthly payment of only $500 less at $1500/mo? ($60k difference = only -$500/mo payment).

Is this due to the formula they use? Is my broker not looking out for me?

The realease form for workman's comp claim from my employer and their insurance company is listing a total release of all medical and mental health history, including all inpatient hospitaluzations, psychotheray notes, everything!

How is this ok? I simply took a fall at work. I told the claim adjuster that I wasn't comfortable with that complete of disclosure and that HIPAA release forms should be very specific. She deflected and said it's standard.

If I refuse to sign it, can they deny my claim?

I remember some if the drawings in it, they were highly detailed pen and ink...the main character was a hot, sweaty, bored boy, there was a lazy bulldog that another kid described as "a ten time blood murderer," a goofy looking mom, and, of course, the mysterious old delapidated hotel on the beach shaped like an elephant. Anyone remember this?

Both of my grandchildrens parents were on drugs, and lost the kids. Although I was doing well and living a new life, CPS denied me guardianship of my grandchildren (previous CPS involvement [case closed 7 years prior to this] with no abuse history). They had lived with me at the start of their lives, I was an involved grandmother...I was excluded from every aspect of the case like I was nothing.

My former best friend became the safety person...then foster parent and finally adoptive parent over the course of 2.5 very difficult years. This was 10 years ago. She has been 100% committed to their upbringing. The children are doing "well enough" despite more than their share of loss (both
